Artful Agenda Review: A Beautiful and Functional Digital Planner You'll Love

I always find it interesting to learn how people organize their schedules. Some people are committed to their trusty paper planners, others swear by a wall calendar in their kitchen, and many use digital tools to stay organized.

For years, I was firmly in the Google Calendar camp. It allowed me to share schedules with my family and even sync sports schedules through various apps.

Honestly, I didn’t think I needed anything more than Google Calendar. That was, until I started seeing ads for an app called Artful Agenda. It intrigued me because it looked like a prettier version of Google Calendar, but I wasn’t interested in paying the subscription fee just for a prettier calendar.

I’m not sure what changed, but one day I decided to go ahead and try the free trial of Artful Agenda. And let me tell you—it only took one day for me to be completely hooked. Why I Love Artful Agenda:

1) It’s Not Just Pretty—It’s Functional

Yes, Artful Agenda is beautiful. But it’s so much more than that.

One of the standout features for me is how easy it is to switch between day, week, and month views. Back in my Google Calendar days, I rarely changed from the monthly view because it felt clunky.

Now, I find myself moving between views all the time to get a clearer picture of my schedule. Whether I’m on my phone or my computer, it’s also much easier to see all my events at a glance.

Artful Agenda also has task lists built into each of the views, so my lists and notes are always at my fingertips.

2) It IS pretty

Okay, I know I said I didn’t need a prettier Google Calendar, but once I started using Artful Agenda, I realized how fun it is to customize the look of my calendar.

Artful Agenda has the charm of a traditional paper planner with customizable covers, endless color options, and stickers. The beauty of the planner makes me look forward to using my calendar!

3) Seamless Integration with Digital Calendars

One of the biggest reasons I’ve stuck with Artful Agenda is how effortlessly it syncs with my Google Calendar (as well as Apple and Outlook calendars).

This means my family can keep using their Google Calendars, and I can view them all in Artful Agenda. My husband and kids each have their own Google Calendar that gets pulled into my account, and they are all color-coded. (Note, you can create Google calendar views for younger children, even if they never use them themselves.)

I can keep all my appointments, events, and reminders in one place without worrying about missing anything.

If you’ve followed me for awhile, you’ll know I also love the Plan to Eat app for meal planning. I can pull my weekly meal plan from Plan to Eat into Artful Agenda! (via my google calendar account).

I can view my planner on my phone, computer, or tablet! It’s the perfect blend of digital convenience with traditional planner vibes.

4) Easy to Set Up Routines

Setting up recurring appointments is a huge benefit of any digital calendar, but now I can also set up recurring tasks that show in my planner as well.

For example, I set up recurring tasks for my cleaning schedule. Some tasks repeat Daily and some are Weekly, Monthly, or Quarterly. It’s such a convenient way to stay on top of everything without having to rewrite my to-do list constantly.

5) Easy to Track Goals

Artful Agenda makes it easy to track goals and project plans. Whether it’s daily tasks, weekly plans, or long-term goals, this planner helps me stay on track and motivated. The List Tab makes it easy to keep all of my notes and plans in one place. For a few extra dollars, you can also get a Habit Tracker as part of Artful Agenda.

6) It’s Totally Customizable

From the cover designs to the Tasks and Lists you want to include, Artful Agenda allows for personalization. If you’ve ever wanted to tailor a planner to your unique style and needs, this is for you.

If you have events you want to see on daily schedule, but not on your monthly calendar, that is possible! Want to change the built in Meal Planner List? You can do that too!

Artful Agenda even has an active Facebook Group where members share their planner setups, so you can get ideas and inspiration for your own.

Other Things You Should Know About Artful Agenda

1) You have to have Google Calendar, iCal, or Outlook to use Artful Agenda.

Artful agenda syncs with these other digital calendars to work. If you don’t already have an account with one of these programs, you will need to create one. Once it is set up, it is a seamless integration, and you can work solely within Artful Agenda.

Once your account is synced, you can toggle on/off which calendar views you want to see in Artful Agenda.

2) How much Does Artful Agenda Cost?

Artful Agenda is $44.99/year.

I mentioned I was initially hesitant about that cost, but I have found it to be worth it. It is a much better user experience than using Google Calendar. And when I thought about the cost of a good paper planner, I realized it is pretty comparable.

There are some upgrades available for an additional $5. The “Plus” features include the ability to upload your own stickers and to use the Habit Tracker. It is completely optional to get those features though!

3) Artful Agenda can be used on your phone, computer, or tablet.

If you’re wondering if you can use Artful Agenda on your device, you probably can! There are apps for Apple and Android. It can also be accessed via a web browser on a computer, but I downloaded the app from the Microsoft store on my PC and it works great.

4) New Features Continue to Be Added

I have been impressed by the new features that keep getting added to the app. It is obvious they are a company that listens to feedback and wants to keep making their product better.

If you’ve been searching for a planner that’s as functional as it is beautiful, I can’t recommend Artful Agenda enough. It’s helped me stay on top of my commitments, simplify my life, and feel more in control of my time…and I actually enjoy using it!
