Technology Gift Cards for Kids and Teens:
Older kids and teens that have their own tech, might appreciate gift cards to spend on their devices.
- Itunes or Google Play Gift Card
- Spotify Gift Card
- Amazon Gift Card – (This can really be spent on anything, but they can use it to purchase Kindle books, music, or to rent movies on Prime Video.
- Audible Gift Card – Perfect for children and teens that love audiobooks. My kids love listening to Audible at bedtime.
Digital App Subscriptions:
There are a lot of great apps that kids love, but they require a subscription. Many of these apps are also educational. App subscriptions can be a fun gift for kids!
- Amazon Kids+ – If your child has an Amazon device like a Kindle Fire, Alexa, or Kindle Paperwhite, this subscription will give them access to apps, books, and audiobooks designed for kids. (Note: if you by the “kids version” of these Amazon devices, they usually come with a year or two of Amazon Kids+ for free.)
- Prodigy – This has been a favorite app for each of my kids when they were in 2nd grade. They all wanted a membership, and it definitely encouraged them to work on their math skills.
- Homer App – This is an early learner app with over 1,000 activities personalized to your child’s level.
- Code Spark – This is a coding app for ages 3-10. One subscription provides access for up to three children!
Subscription Boxes for Kids:
Subscription boxes are memberships to physical products that are delivered monthly. For gift memberships, you can choose how long of a subscription you want. Typically you can choose 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, or a year.
These do run the risk of becoming clutter, but I feel like they are still less clutter than other toys. For one thing, if it is a craft or STEAM activity box, all of the supplies you need are included in the box, so you don’t have to keep supplies on hand.
Many of them also include paper/cardboard that can easily be recycled when you are done with them.
Overall, they are a fun and unique gift that kids love receiving each month.
- Kiwi Co – Kiwi Co has a variety of subscriptions for all ages, from babies to teenagers! You can choose what your child is interested in, and the box includes all of the supplies needed.
- Crunch Labs – Do your kids love Mark Rober? He is the former NASA engineer turned YouTuber that created Crunch Labs. My kids love his engineering build boxes. They make great gifts! Again, all the supplies you need are included! Get $10 off a subscription with this link!
- Bits Box – With Bitsbox, your kids learn to code with fun activities that are mailed each month. They also provide a binder to store the project cards. This is a fun subscription for kids ages 6-12! It also helps with typing skills, because kids type on a computer keyboard for these coding lessons (as opposed to an app on a tablet).

- Wonder Crate – This subscription is great for kids ages 7-11 that love history. Each month, your child will receive a book from the “Who was” series, plus activities to go along with it.
- Eat to Explore – This is perfect for foodie kids that love to try new foods. Each box includes recipes and spices to create food from another country!
- We Craft Box – If you have kids that love to craft, but you don’t love keeping all of the supplies on hand, this is for you! You get a box with all of the supplies and prep work done to keep your kids busy with their creations. Get 10% off your first order with code:
THISSIMPLIFIEDHOME
- Universal Yums – This is a subscription of snacks from a different country each month. If you don’t want the subscription, you can also get a one-time International Snack box on Amazon.
- Raddish Kids – This is another cooking/baking box. Each box comes with recipes and a cooking tool designed for kids. This is a great way to have fun with your kids in the kitchen!

- Silverquicken – Escape room in a box for ages 9-13.
- The Max Letters – Perfect for kids that love adventure stories. Each month your child will receive a chapter of the letter via snail mail. To keep these clutter-free, I recommend getting the tin to keep the letters in, or put them in a binder with page protectors.

Other Clutter-Free Gift Ideas that Kids Love
- New Bedding or Decor for their room – Kids love to create a room that reflects their personality. Gift them something to make their room special.
